I still remember that many times before an examination or a competition I would pray for God’s blessings, helping me to get a satisfactory result, which I thought could build up my confidence.
However, gradually I start to realize that confidence doesn’t come from what you have achieved though I admit accomplishment of some jobs is a source. Then where does confidence come from? Does your partner’s failure add to your confidence? Or does your not sparing a glance for your opponent’s success do a bit of help?
I think confidence is the trust in yourself from the bottom of your heart. Being confident doesn’t mean that you think you are capable of doing everything or you’re the best among your schoolmates. Instead, it means that you’re clearly aware of your own strengths and weaknesses, and moreover that you have the courage, determination and persistence to overcome your shortcomings.
When you are confident, you will raise your head instead of lowering your head when walking on the campus.
When you are confident, you won’t be shy when talking with your teachers or the senior.
When you are confident, you won’t be concerned too much about the result of a contest because you believe you can make it.
When you are confident, you won’t tremble before going to the front to make a speech. Instead, you will be able to smile, to pronounce each word loudly and clearly.
……
Confidence is the secret of success. This sentence has become a kind of clichés, but it does best indicate the benefits confidence can bring to you。
Maybe you’ve failed in the past. But remember that your past failures can’t denote your poor ability. The brightest future will only be based on a forgotten past.
When it comes to myself, I should say that I’m not a confident girl now, but I’m trying to become confident. And I also should let go of my past failures and heartaches, only then will I be able to go on well in my life journey.
