I like simple cuisine. When I eat rice, I put something on rice. For example, like curry rice.
I often eat "Nattou". Nattou is fermented soybeans. First, you can mix it into gruel. In my case I mix it with a raw egg and sliced green onion and soy sauce and Karashi(Japanese mustard). Then, you put Nattou on steamed rice. Nattou's smell is very bad. But it's very delicious!
Do you know "Donburi" cuisine in Japan? Originally Donburi means the big Japanese dishe for steamed rice. The "Donburi" is Japanese cuisine style which put the main dish on steamed rice in the big dish. Main dish is everything you like. You can eat easily both of rice and main dish at the same time. You can try it.
