The Mask (1994:USA)

I purposely ordered DVDs from Japan, because I wanted the DVD with Japanese subtitle. Of course, those are for studying English.
The Mask, I really love this movie! Especially, Jim Carrey's acting is the best.

I think that there are people who don't like his overdone acting in the other movies. But his acting like that is effective in the movie because this movie include a theme of human's two faces.

In this movie, before getting the mask, he was dowdy and very modest man. But he have his inmost desire. And, when he puts on the mask which he got on the strange happening, he transforms into the man exploded with desire. From here, we can see Jim Carry's real ability.

The images like the cartoon using a lot of CG animation are really interesting and make me laugh. The development of the story is also very fast and effective.
And, the acting of Mairo of his buddy's dog and a newcomer Cameron Diaz surprised me.

Anyway, It makes me happy to watch this movie when I feel down. I think that almost shy guy (like me) can sympathize with his character. To imitate his words while watching this movie is good English lesson and serves a dual purpose for me. If there are people who don't still watch this movie, I hope to watch it. "Smoking!"
