I saw a lady (maybe in 20s) playing a game on DS in a crowded train this morning!
I could't see the screen clearly, so i don't know which game she was playing, but at least it was not Brain Age-ish game because she never used her stylus.

I see many people playing DS games in a train. Not only little kids but also middle-aged women are playing. I also see people playing PSP in a train sometimes, but they are usually not kids or ladies but men.

It seems that Nintendo is achieving to get new fans.

That's right, after many years behind their competitors they are finally doing great because of the new audience of casual players they are attracting. My girlfriend occasionally plays videogames, she isn't the kind of person who is into them, but she recently bought a DS lite and Mario Kart. I was quite surprised, hehehe, but she seems to like it, specially when playing with others using the wi-fi service. Nowadays, producing games for next-gen consoles is very expensive, so smaller developers don't have enough tools to compete and implement their ideas into the games. I think nintendo is doing good by providing consoles that keep both big and small developers happy.

Nintendo seems to be coming back strong with their latest game consoles. Ever since they lost the crown to PS1/PS2, the DS and the wii are realy popular and getting lots of praises, especially with all the negative news surrounding the PS3.

DS will sell more and more since Dragon Quest 9 is coming to DS. That news was pretty surprising to all gamers in Japan and I heard some people saying they were totally disappointed with it, but since we usually don't expect high quality CG for the DQ series, i think it will be ok. They will buy it anyway :P PS3 is great for its graphics, but hmm, I think we need more innovative games only for PS3.
