I'm trying so hard to get a Wii, but everyone wants to sell at about twice the MSRP. those b@stards.
Maybe I'll freeze myself like Eric Cartmen in Southpark did haha.

Lol I watched that South Park episode too. Well, I already got one but I paid 450 dollars for it (that's the normal price in Chile for now, what an abuse!)... but don't despair!, in fact I'd recommend you to wait until you have more color choices (I'd go for black one in your case) and more games, but if you want it so badly try ebay or less known shopping outlets... there's nothing much to do with those outages, it's incredible that even in XXI century we still have that kind of problems.

I was really lucky to get mine on the launch day at 25,000 yen which is the MSRP in Japan. I still hear a lot of people are trying to get one too. Can't you pre-order the console at video game shops?

I can get one if I want to pay about 450-500USD. But I just don't feel it's right. Howz the motion sensor? Does it really work good? By the way howz the Wii advertised in Japan and Chile? Here in us the commercials showed two Japaense dude going into American houses and introducing the Wii by saying "Wii(We) would like to play", and at the end of the commercial you see the two 'ii' in 'Wii' making a bow. I thoght it was pretty smart. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p25y36LMZys

We have the same american advertisement which is pretty cool I think, but with audio and text translated to spanish (the same for game adverts). Those ads are not only shown in Chile but all Latin America. We receive games from US with their ESRB ratings (but they are not valid here) and also from Europe (spanish and multilanguage versions). The control's fantastic, once you try it it'll become your favorite way of playing games, but don't take my word and try it out. You can also calibrate it to your taste. It feels comfortable when using it as a mouse for web browsing (Opera Browser is available for download from the Wii Shop Channel). Wait for more units or try to order it online (maybe from a store outside US).

American commercial looks interesting! Japanese commercial is different. The only one I remember is that a family plays Wii Sports but I don't remember what they are saying... The motion sensor works pretty good. you just need a little time to get used to it. it's really innovative function. however, I prefer normal controller when I play Sim city-ish games and Fire Emblem. oh the Weather Channel is much more fun than I expected. I never had so much fun before to check the weather over the world lol

I think that they don't produce enough units on purpose, to drive up demands. Sounds like a conspiracy theory, but with today's production strength, they can't possibly produce not enough units.

The only games I have for that console is wii sports and red steel, I'm waiting for Warioware Smooth Moves to be released here... some time ago I saw a girl playing that game at a games store (import version from japan) and it looked very fun. The only thing I'll regret, is having the white version when the black one comes out, hehehe, but that doesn't make the console less entertaining.
