Interracial marriages

Posted 2007-01-10 20:40:46 | Comments (4)

Before few weeks I read news that there were few interracial marriages took place in my city. Indian grooms and Russian and European brides. I was quite exited about it. But does interracial marriages do succeed? The difference in culture, language, food etc may become a bottle neck in the flow if life.

Will any body prefer to go for interracial marriages, and what are there preferences? Personally I would like to marry a Chinese or Japanese girl... ;-). Don’t ask me why, it’s a preference...

Hello, anybody out there making note of this ;-)....!!!!??????

When they decide to get marry, I think every problem between them would be cleared. I mean, they should know each other very well since they are getting married! The environment may be a problem though. For example, mother-in-law won't like the bride who doesn't know their tradition, or the bride doesn't have any friends in her new country adn misses her country. Starting a new life in different country must need a lot of energy. I really hope the couple would have a wonderful life :D

I agree that it needs lot of energy and determination to adapt oneself. But to get to know each other is bit difficult, as they say "You need more than a life time to know somebody". Yes Love plays a great role in marriage, or any relation in that case, but life is not a road of flowers. It needs a good level of compromise and adjustment to make it really "Happy Marriage".

Interracial marriage is becoming a fad. I guess it's alright as long as both parties (the groom and the bride) know how to settle their clashing cultures and practices. However, there are some that fail. Discrimination is always evident. In my case, my Chinese grandmother abhors Filipinos. She thinks they are inferior but I totally disagree. My uncle married a Filipina. Everything went alright but still, there's discrimination. It's easy for my relatives to say something bad about my aunt since she doesn't understand Mandarin. They, especially my grand mother, can always insult her even right under her nose. Interrracial is alright but in marriage, you also have to marry your future wife's or husband's family, isn't it?
