What is your favorite/worst favorite Japanese food?
According to the research on alc.co.jp, here is the top 5.

- Favorite
1. Sushi
2. Tenpura, Ramen
3. Misoshiru (miso soup)
4. Sashimi

- Worst favorite
1. Umeboshi
2. Natto
3. Wagashi
4. Sashimi
5. Ramen

on my! Umeboshi would be one of my favorite japanese food! Natto is very slimy and I don't like that either but I don't think it smells yukky.

by the way, my favorite Japanese food is sushi too.

I also like curry rice. i'm sure it's from India, but Japanese curry rice is something different from the original one. I wonder how Indian people think of Japanese curry rice...
my worst favorite is wasabi. it kills my nose!! it smells awful!!! I always remove wasabi from my sushi...

I am surprised to know that there is curry rice in Japan too, so can say anything about that yet :-) As everybody knows Indian curry is very hot and spicy, is Japanese curry very spicy?

The texture of Japanese curry rice is more like stew. some of them must be hot and spicy like Indian curry, but usually it's not so hot and there are various packeges of different hot levels so that children can eat it. I believe curry rice is one of Japanese people's most favorite food :)

If done well, then my favourite is mixed tenpura. However, it is difficult to find excellent tenpura close to where I live. I have yet to try curry rice. I do like wasabi though! I have just bought some umeboshi (after about 1.5 years of searching for it). I'll be trying it this week.

oh my! I just hate wasabi!! it hurts my nose... but I love umeboshi. oh did you know you can cook tenpura if you have eggs, water and flour? ;)
