Prejudice

I didn't have much to do today so I decided to go to the nearest mall and window shop. It's torture seeing things you want to buy but can't afford. The sad thing is, only a thin transparent glass separates you from those things. *sigh* Maybe I'm being too materialistic again.

I'm studying in a prestigious school where most, if not all, students are rich and have designer clothes to flaunt with everyday. For me, it's alright as long as they won't think they're any better than people like me or something. The terrible thing is they do. They think they're better than those who are "simple."

I remember one day when I ran out of clothes to wear since we don't have uniforms, so I just put on my usual shirt and chucks. This guy approached me and looked at me mockingly, from head to toe. He said something like, "my eyes hurt." And he whispered to other guys and one of the jerks said, "the girl with no fashion sense." I just ignored them even though I wanted to punch all of them. Those kinds of people deserve to be pushed off a cliff!
I'm not like them who feed on their parents' money all their lives.  Can they just be more mature and  keep their mouth shut if they have nothing good to say?!

I know physical appearance is an important thing. But it's something I have to give up to buy what I NEED.

Instead of looking at others, why can't they just look at themselves and see how lousy they really are? I should have done something to protect myself from humiliation. And now I'm ranting my "defeat" right here online...

life is filled with people like this. you can't let it get you down.. you just have to brush it off. in the end its your ability to be able to "just let it go" that really counts. time spent worrying about what someone said about your appearance is time wasted! your living your life for yourself and no one else. who cares what others think. :)

Hey don't be so down on this. One can learn how to be fashionable, but no school or teacher can teach how to be simple. The example of Mahatma Gandhi is well known. He used to wear a single dhoti. He went to Round table conference to London to face British parliament. Does wearing such dress made him small? not at all. His impact was unforgettable. He was a man who peacfuly made the British to get out of India. Please see the pictures of Round table conference here. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Gandhi_Round_Table.jpg
