An Introduction

I suppose it makes it easier for people if I provide a bit of information about myself. My name is Mel, and I live on the coast of Maine, which is the easternmost state in the US, at the very southern tip of the state. I am a veterinarian and live with my partner David, who is a fashion designer.

I joined this site specifically to see if I could find people to help me learn Hindi, as I am hoping in the next few years to go to India to do some animal birth control and rabies vaccination work. I have (American) friends living in a town in Himachal Pradesh, and I know that the street dog situation there is fairly dire.

In any event, that's a fairly basic rundown. I do maintain a regular blog, so if you are interested in learning even more, that would be the best place to go.
