10 Whai is the bad part of Japan?
1. Of course, at least from a distance. I wouldn't know if I'd actually like it there because...
2. ..I haven't been there. I plan to go as soon as I think I can, though.
3. Strangely, I've never tried any. I plan to do that too. I usually like really hot things, so I guess I'll aim for wasabi, curry, and such.
4. Nope.
5. A lot of things. I think it's a very interesting place that I'd love to spend time in. I think it has an interesting history, interesting culture, interesting people.
6. The only thing I could sortof say I have that was made in Japan would be a couple manga. But they were printed here, so...
7. I hear a lot of Japanese songs, from listening to radio and from watching anime and playing games, but I don't usually pay attention to the singers. I don't pay attention to American singers either. The only name that comes to mind is Yui at the moment... and Utada Hikaru. Oh, and I hear about Alice 9 all the time, but I'm not sure if I like them.
8. I don't know any. Except for Miki Ando, I guess, because I've heard people talk about her, and the Olympics.
9. I like a lot of things about Japan. I love their entertainment - how they're willing to do all kinds of crazy stuff with it. I love the language, even if it's giving me a serious headache. I don't think I could say one specific thing, or even make a list of a lot of things. There's just too much.
10. While I like a lot of things about Japan, I also dislike a lot of things about Japan. I don't really like all the formality, and the awareness of status. I don't like that the Japanese seem a bit xenophobic - that is, that they aren't too fond of foreigners. I often hear "Japan is built on in-groups and out-groups, where YOU'RE the out group." ;) Also, if I ever come there, I'm sure I'll learn to hate the summers. I can't stand humidity ;)
